Saving changes in draft before publishing using WP managed by GoDaddy

  • Hello, I subscribed to the WP plan with GoDaddy a few days ago and downloaded the template from WP. I noticed there is no option to save a draft of the customization before activating/publishing the template. I found that option is available for new posts built from scratch.
    Is there a way to save changes to the template without publishing it? the GoDaddy managed WP site has no such functionality unless I am missing something here. thank you.

    Hi,

    You can install a free backup plugin and save all your work before making changes. You can find very good free backup plugins on the WordPress repository.

    If you will make changes also on the theme, I suggest you install the child theme. Run a search on google about “WordPress Child Teme” and you will find a lot of information on how that works.

    You can also manage any page or post and keep it in draft mode, without making their live. You can find more information here:

    Thank you Bill. I will check about the backup plugins. I am also aware of creating a Child theme template.

    With regards keeping a post in Draft form, this works well if it is a new post as I see I have options to save it as such. As for the template, the GoDaddy managed version of WP doesn’t seem to have the same capabilities.

    Hi Sami,

    The job about posts management is made by WordPress.
    The theme just takes care of the design.
    Try to search if you can find some free plugin to help you.
