Hi. Love TablePress. Been using for a while.

But ran into a problem back in May (6 months ago).

I’ve been waiting for it to correct it’s self, but it has not.

    So here’s the issue:

I can not ADD more rows to a table.

I currently have 130 rows (and 13 columns). Is that a limit?

When I attempt to add a row and save, I receive this message:

“Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – Not Found. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.”

See screenshot of error 1 here:

When I attempt a second time with the shift key, I received this message:

“Error: The table could not be saved.”

See screenshot of error 2 here:

Here is the website page the table is on:

Thank you for looking into this issue.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

While there is no limit for the size of a table in theory, some servers have certain security measures in place that unfortunately cause a false alarm here. Basically, the server, its firewall software, or e.g. a security extension like mod_security for the Apache webserver do not like something in the request, probably the size.
To fix this, you will have to contact your webhost company and ask them to change the configuration of the software that blocked the request. They should have more information about this in their log files.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Tobias,

Hi. Thank you for you insight.

Based on you suggestions, I remembered that I do have the plugin Wordfence Security on my website.

    I tried an experiment.

I disabled Wordfence and attempted to add a new row to TablePress.

    It worked!

Looks like Wordfence is blocking TablePress from saving.

Just thought others would like to know my findings.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi Mike,

nice find! Good to know that this can be caused by WordFence as well. So far, I had only heard about this from “real” server extensions and not a WordPress plugin.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hello,
I am facing the same problem. But can not solve it. What will I do now please? Thanks.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble. Also, please excuse the long wait for a reply. I just returned from holidays last night and was not able to reply earlier. Thanks for your understanding.

Could you please describe the exact problem that you have (even if it sounds similar to what other people described, it might be different, that’s why I’m asking). Also, are you using the WordFence plugin?

    Regards,
    Tobias
