saving menu gives error 404 page – simple catch

  • Hi Guys

    Been building out my website for 18 months now and never had an issue. This evening i tried to save a new page and the site generated an error 404 page. The version of wordpress im running is below – admittedly i should update it but just wondering what the issue would be?

    WordPress 4.0.12 running Simple Catch theme.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • In the past when I’ve experienced a 404 after submitting a form in the WordPress admin it’s been a server security feature, like mod_security.

    Whatever the issue is, updating is the best first step to solving it. If it’s still happening, try deactivating all plugins and trying again. If that doesn’t work I’d suggest speaking to your host. Provide them with a time and date and they might be able to find the issue.
