    Hi,

the latest update (7.6.0 ) produces an error while saving changes in a draft. Saving is not possible, a message is shown, that the database should be updated.

For quick solution, I rolled back to version 7.5.9. and that solved the problem for now.

Pls. take a look into the latest version of the plugin!
    Thks, Andreas

Thank you for reporting. In the latest version the saving has been changed to deal with mod_security… but probably it is creating problems in some environments.

Which kind of message is shown? Are you so kind to take a screenshot?

    Thank you!

Just a question: are you saving from the composer or the HTML/Visual editor?

Right now there is a newsletter being sent, therefore I do not want to update the plugin to restore the message. I will provide all the info this afternoon, after the mailing is finished

Thank you very much @perryzelda, if you want to contact me directly at stefano at thenewsletterplugin dot com we can check together the problem.

You probably have some error logs in the Newsletter System/Logs panel inside the “store” log (but only if the logging is enabled in the Newsletter main settings.

The changes were made in the Composer, within a text-block.
The process: Edit Text Block – Apply, then Save

The result was a blank screen, that showed only the message
Database error. If you were saving a newsletter try a table upgrade from the status panel.

Pressing “Browser-Reloading” brought me back to the previous saved version of the draft (without the changed content)

Using the “Back-Button” of the browser displayed the draft again and showed the changed content. Trying to proceed to the sending-window again showed the same blank screen and message like above.

Also it seems, as if the message setting for unsubscribed users does not work anymore. There were several unsubscriptions, but no info mail to the saved email-address was received. This also did not work after rolling back to 7.5.9.

    Using:
WP 6.1.1, PHP 8.1, Theme Twenty TwentyTwo

Hi, please, enable the log level to info or more detailed n the Newsletter main settings, repeat the saving to get the error once again, and then check the System/Logs for a store-aaa.txt file. In that file, we should be able to see the error details. You can send them to me privately if you prefer at stefano at thenewsletterplugin dot com

    Thank you!

Do you mean one of those?

Yes, that sound t not be connected to character encoding, probably it is changed when the mod_security protection we use works on the email content.

On System/Status, are there warning about the database encoding in use? That messages comes from the database and the presence of message_text in the error makes me think it is due to accented characters (of course it should not happen!)

    Thread Starter Andreas

    (@perryzelda)

No, there is no such general warning

Ok, everytime you save things go bad? Even with an empty newsletter or just with a footer or header?

    Thread Starter Andreas

    (@perryzelda)

No problem with the RAW HTML template.
Creating a completely new newsletter-draft without header- and footer- block and then using a text block and save it: same problem

May I ask to get in touch at (stefano at thenewsletterplugin dot com) to find a way to debug that?

    Thank you!
