    Hi,

This problem sounds like an issue with your local environment.

Please can you try creating a free WordPress blog on a host such as https://www.appfog.com/, then install the GetMeCooking plugin and see if it works?

If it does (and it should), try adding the same theme and plugins to see if you can get it to ‘break’ in the same way that your current blog is broken.

    Thanks.

Thanks, I’m trying a different plugin instead.

I did sign up for appfog as suggested, but it’s geared toward SERIOUS programmers versus wordpress easy click and install plugins for newbies like me.

Actually on Appfog it is very quick and easy.

    You just:

    – Go to https://console.appfog.com/apps/new
    – Select WordPress
    – Select AWS Europe West (or whichever one you want to use)
    – Enter a name for your installation

It then takes you to a screen where it lists all of your apps.
    – Click on the one you just created
    – Click on ‘Visit live site’

That’t it ?? it took me less than 20 seconds to do this just now.

The only issue with Appfog is that they don’t yet support persistent data, so you can’t use it to run a live blog, but for testing things, it is great (and free).

Your directions are much easier! Appfog “start-up” page told me to download ruby installer, and I got nervous.

On appfog, the plugin does work….I wonder what’s wrong with my localhost settings.

    Anyway. Thanks for the support!
