• I have WP2.0 installed, the Akismet/IImage Browser/Recent Comments/WordPress Database Backup plugins installed and activated.

Not really a pressing concern of mine so far (I’m using 0.6mb of the 10mb database space, and 5mb of the 200mb general space, that my host allows).

However, I was wondering what settings/options I should be looking at to improve the efficiency and more importantly save database space on my server?

I’m not fussed about funky features, I just wanna vent on my blog and I’m not that fussy who reads it, although I do have comments enabled – so advice what you like and I’ll probably give it a go!

Thanks for any tips on this ??

  • There’s nothing really to be gained by removing information from the database – it only gets used when it’s needed so it being there when it isn’t being used is no hassle for it.

You can optimise the tables every so often and otherwise worry not – and this is from someone who detests server clutter ??

And how would one go about “optimisin g the tables” please? ?? And what do you mean by “optimising” them – taking out redundant data, or something like that? Just interested is all!! ??
