• I just created my first WP 1.5 blog and am getting started setting it up. Right from the start it seemed that when I navigate back to the main page of the journal I am getting logged out – the “edit post” links aren’t showing up, it’s giving me the “login” link, etc. When I click on the “login” link, it takes me straight to the WP admin page – so I AM still logged in.

This is rather problematic as I this blog I have modified to allow only logged in users (users with user level greater than 0) to view anything. Just to clarify, though: it was having problems before that.

But it’s ONLY doing it at the index page. Any of my Pages, the Archives page, the individual pages, etc… all work fine. it’s only the index page that say I’m not logged in.

I can’t see anything in the code that would cause this, especially only on one page. The templates all use the same header file, and each template is exactly the same until the content (the archives displays the archives links, the index displays the latest posts, etc).

If anyone wants to test it out to see what I’m talking about, email me (natalie AT lunardreams DOT com) and just ask, I’ll set you up with an account so you can try it out and see for yourself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’m quite stumped. ??

  • I’m having the same problem, thought it might have been because of all the plugins I’ve installed but it did this before that. Whenever I click on the header image to return to the index, it logs me out, in fact…it never remembers me as logged in whenever I visit the index. I always have to login..then I go to another page and I’m still logged in, but back to the index and I’m logged out again. The only other page I notice that I get logged out is on my lazy-gallery. I’m using wp 1.5.1.3 with Rin 1.0 and a ton of plugins (info: https://bebi.r0x0rs.com/blog/about-this-blog/).

Try disabling your “ton of plugins”. If you cannot reproduce the issue after that, then the problem is one of your plugins.

I just setup a test blog with no plugins installed and it’s the same thing. Thought it might have been because of my theme, which I also installed on the test blog to test it, but it does it on the default theme as well.

Hate to double post…but we found the problem. For some reason clicking on the banner put a www in the url and none of the other pages had it, so I had to add the www into the url settings in the admin > options and it’s all fixed!
