• Hey folks,

This has been a stumper. I’ve been managing this real-estate site, https://www.homesbydale.com. The Listings page offers a carousel of photos for each listing. Recently (since July 9, 2015), each individual listing page displays a large photo (as it should), but instead of showing thumbnails of the other photos right underneath the main photo, there’s a vast expanse of empty space, with a “loading” graphic (spinning wheel). Example:

    https://www.homesbydale.com/?post_type=listings&p=3303

All of the photos are a standard size, mostly landscape with dimensions of 320px (width) by 480px (height), a few portrait size at 427px by 640px.

Here’s the weird part: If I open View Image info on this gallery in Firefox, all the photos report they are ‘scaled,’ The portrait-sized images all report dimensions of “427px x 640px (scaled to 820px x 1229px)”. I think the browser believes it’s supposed to load a really big image that isn’t there! FYI, the same behavior displays in Chrome, so it’s not a Firefox issue.

Any ideas where or what is scaling these images? More importantly, what can I do about it? Thanks for your help!

  • In hopes that more people might see this than when I posted two weeks ago, I offer an update.

I’m still having this problem in WordPress 4.3.1. The theme has been updated twice since the issue arose.

Happy to answer any questions, or pursue any possible solution.

    Thanks!
