scaled images/resizing images issue affecting page load time

    I’m running into an issue with page load times being negatively affected by not specifying image dimensions and serving scaled images. The images causing me the most issues are the sliders on the home page (to be fair the Facebook widget is also causing some issues).

    GT Metrix is recommending that I resize the images. I tried doing that but they didn’t render correctly (plus Virtue recommends using larger images).

    So how do I scale images without them looking weird? And How do I specify image dimensions (I thought Virtue automatically did this)?
