`I can’t find any other word to describe the plugin author! You get the plugin free from wordpress site and then what? It sets on your website uselessly. You have to download the database file to get it work but where on earth is the database file??? You have to register to the plugin author to get the database file and how on earth do you register??? Well once you try to register a message will pop up on his website and say “Don’t have a MaxMind account? Learn how to create one.”

Simply, he will keep your life as difficult as can be until you buy his monthly or yearly subscription and simply, I am deleting this plugin all together.
I don’t know why wordpress Admins don’t check if the plugin authors following terms and conditions!

Maybe get a little bit more educated next review. You download the database at the website of MaxMind which is not mine. I don’t have a database full of IP addresses which lead to countries. MaxMind does. So they decide how they supply this to you and yes they do this for free as well as it is a regular business who needs to make money to keep their lights running and their employees paid.

Fine that you don’t like the plugin or the way MaxMind gives you their data for free. Go on and move to another solution. But not really necessary to leave these kind of reviews as it is unfair to the many hours and years I’ve put in to building this plugin (again for free) which others do like.

Maybe try to write your own plugin once and supply it to the WordPress community?

I think you need to get more educated and learn how to update the plugin description. Why didn’t you update the plugin descriptions to let users know about the database? This is your responsibility!

I didn’t volunteer to become an author. Don’t justify your scam by attacking others! You volunteered to become a plugin author. You either do the work properly or don’t.

    Have a good life

I don’t usually add to someone else’s review, but I have to agree with the plugin author.

He does not provide the data. He (for free) provides a way for WordPress to use data freely provided by a third-party (Maxmind), something the third-party does not themselves do.

Instructions on how to do this are clearly provided and, I feel, are easy to understand.

If you don’t like the plugin, that’s fine, but given how much you are paying for it (plugin: free, data: free), I think that this is a great solution.
