I just got this error message between the analysis of files and the scanning of file contents. I re-ran the scan and got the same error again:

[Nov 11 12:11:46] A regex Wordfence received from its servers is invalid. The pattern is: =\s?[“‘]https?:\/\/[^”‘?&]+\/(phpmailer|wp-(admin|includes|content)\/)[^”‘]+[\w-\.\$]{20,}\.html[^#?]

Bug in the plugin, at your servers, or some sort of conflict on my site?

  • We are getting this too. No changes have been made. It just seems to have appeared out of nowhere.

Hello @wwwolf and thanks for reaching out to us!

Let’s try to update the rules and run a new scan.

Navigate to Wordfence > All Options > Firewall Options > Advanced Firewall Options > Manually Refresh Rules. Once that is completed, head back over to your Scan and start a new one.

@bclaim You can try this as well. If it doesn’t work, as per forum guidelines below, could you please open your own topic and we would be glad to assist you:

“Unless users have the exact same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme, and configurations, then the odds are the solution for one user will not be the same for another. For this reason, we recommend people start their own topics.”

Let me know if this message shows up again.

    Thanks!
