    Hi, I have a free version of Wordfence. I have been getting the message after scans:

    1 existing issue was found again and is not shown.

    How do I find out what is the existing issue?

    Hello @lesliebaird60 and thanks for reaching out to us!

    We alert like this because the emails have always only shown new issues. We didn’t want to change that on users who leave issues on purpose without ignoring/resolving them, so they don’t start getting a flood of emails for known issues.

    If you go to Scan > Results Found, you should see anything that you might need to resolve if you choose. Possibly an outdated plugin or theme.

    The scan results show no issues, no ignored issues. In the last 2 emails I received, the message said that was an issue that hadn’t been corrected, but said what I mentioned in the first message.

    Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    I’ll be able to review this and see if we can find what is causing this.

    I sent the report to you via the Huckleberry Inn website.

    It looks like I am also having the same issue with other websites. Should I send you those reports also?

    Thanks for sending over the diagnostic report!

    Looks like you have 2 plugins that are scanning as out of date:
    Wordfence (Always keep Wordfence up to date)
    A2 Optimized WP

    Update these plugins and attempt another scan. You mentioned you have another site with the same issue, so verify the same on that site.

    Still having the issue – on my site Prestigecustomhomesllc.net, this time. Here is the full message. I am always updating my site, but I get these cryptic messages lately:

    This email was sent from your website “Prestige Custom Homes, LLC” by the Wordfence plugin.

    Wordfence found the following new issues on “Prestige Custom Homes, LLC” (1 existing issue was also found again).

    Alert generated at Friday 28th of August 2020 at 07:09:14 PM

    Medium Severity Problems:

    What does the above sentence mean?

    It looks like “The Plugin “A2 Optimized WP” needs an upgrade (2.0.11 -> 2.0.11.1).” still needs to be updated and is causing that issue, according to the email alert. Make sure to fully update it and run a scan to make sure no errors are found.

    Let’s see if that resolves it.

    Hi….I sent you another diagnostic file. I have updated everything. I will have to monitor the scans, as I update everything regularly. so the message refers to the issue that is listed in the messages, or is it a separate issue that is hidden? The message says the issue was found again.

    Are you seeing anything on your Scan Page? Does it have anything listed in the last section under “Results Found”?

    I have also seen when a message can sometimes be cached. To clear this, go to All Options > Email Alert Preferences. Note which ones you have checked, then uncheck them all and Save Changes. Then recheck the ones you had previously and Save Changes again.

    The scan says no results found. I took your suggestions about email alerts and unchecked boxes and saved, then checked boxes and saved.

    I will monitor this and see if this works. Thanks!
