    Hello,

I use actual MainWp with the Wordfence Extension 4.0.3. On the Child Sites is the actual Wordfence Free Version installed. In MainWp – Wordfence Extension I have set the Scan schedule for the Child Sites to weekly. But the problem is, that the Scans are still running daily on the child sites.

How can I get the Child Sites automatically scaned just once per week?

    Thx
    best
    Crissi

    Hi @crissineon

In the free version of Wordfence a quick scan runs daily and a full scan runs every seventy two hours. You cannot modify the scan scheduling in the free version of Wordfence. You can read about this here:

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/scheduling/

    Hi @wfphil

thanks for the reply. As using the wordfence extension for MainWp, having there the Options for Schedule Twice a day, Once a Day, Once a week, Once a month

So the MainWp Wordfence Extension settings will be ignored complete for the Free Version?

Is there a other way, to influence the Scans in the “FREE Version”, as there are couple of Users working on the Site, and the Daily Scans blocking the Users as the Site has not so much RAM?

    Thx

    Hi @crissineon

Thank you for the update. I wasn’t aware that MainWP had a Wordfence Extension:

    https://mainwp.com/extension/wordfence/

You can see in the cron jobs you posted:

    wordfence_start_scheduled_scan | 2021-06-16 06:50:00
    wordfence_start_scheduled_scan | 2021-06-19 06:50:00

You can see that the timestamps match the seventy two hour gap between full scans for the free version of Wordfence.

Therefore it appears that the scan schedule functionality in the MainWP Wordfence Extension only applies to people running the premium version of Wordfence.

Users of the free version of Wordfence have no control over the scheduling of full scans as outlined in our documentation link in my last reply.

When you said, “…there are couple of Users working on the Site, and the Daily Scans blocking the Users as the Site has not so much RAM?”

Please provide a very precise and detailed description of what those users see and any memory errors that you are aware of.

    Hi @wfphil

even with the selected Performance Options Settings in WF, during a Scan complete slow down the Website, so the Users have to logout and wait till the Scan is done.

Blocking in this case means, blocking the Users from working (no memory errors) on the site.

Is there really no workaround, to change the scheduled tasks for Free Version?

I mean i understand that the specific scan time when the Site get scanned cannot be changed, but that im not able to change how often the Site get scanned automatically (specially for lower RAM Websites) is a big problem…

Or other way around, if how often scan cannot be changed, can the scan time somehow moved to non business hours?

Like Time Range, 8PM till 8AM

    Hi @crissineon

As already stated in our documentation scan scheduling is not available in the free version. We are not allowed to discuss the premium version in the forum so if you have any questions about the premium version then please send them to presales [at] wordfence [dot] com.
