• I have been trying to resolve a scan issue for over a week now since upgrading to 5.3.11. Every time I try to run a scan I get the following message:

    [Apr 16 09:58:01] Scan terminated with error: We received an error response when trying to contact the Wordfence scanning servers. The HTTP status code was [0]

    Here is the result from the connectivity tester:

    DNS lookup for noc1.wordfence.com returns: 69.46.36.8

    wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com passed!

    I have several WordPress sites (all have their own installs) on two separate servers and the same thing is happening on every site. I can still run scans on the sites that I have not upgraded from 5.3.8 yet.

    Also – on any sites that I try to run a fresh plugin install I cannot get an API key. If I manually upload 5.3.8 I can get an API key and activate WordFence. I’ve been using Wordfence for nearly a year and this is the first time I’ve experienced any issues whatsoever. I’ve tinkered with the options and nothing seems to correct the problem. I can only assume that there is an issue with the latest update.

  • Can you screenshot your server info (link on bottom of WF options page) and paste a link here to it?

    Also, this worked in a few other cases. Try deactivating the plugin and then re-activating it.

    I’m taking my config settings down now. Makes me feel like my underwear is showing or something.
