I get this error on my dev site at https://dev-intandem.pantheonsite.io/:

Warning: scandir(/srv/bindings/8d1d2f470883424383a47d00cca9837d/code/wp-content/uploads/ithemes-security/backups): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /srv/bindings/84b542fb2d11452297a64253d9dc7058/code/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/core/modules/backup/class-itsec-backup.php on line 261 Warning: scandir(): (errno 2): No such file or directory in /srv/bindings/84b542fb2d11452297a64253d9dc7058/code/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/core/modules/backup/class-itsec-backup.php on line 261

What does it mean and how do I fix it? iThemes is up-to-date and that directory DOES exist with permissions 770.

    Thanks.

Temporarily change the permissions to 777 on the backups folder and see whether that makes any difference.
If so, it must be a permission issue.

    Edit:
I just noticed there are 2 different folders being referenced in the error:

    8d1d2f470883424383a47d00cca9837d versus 84b542fb2d11452297a64253d9dc7058

    Thanks, dwinden!

That difference in the paths was my clue to the solution. Turns out the settings from my production server got moved over to dev. Not sure how, but it’s all fixed now.
