can i use this plugin to schedule regular exports to another website. My site is an advertising directory. Advertisements are called listings which guess would be custom posts. I need to be able to create an export to match the field layout of advertising directories according to a tree they send me and then I need it to send updates of any changes made to advertisements on my site that I am displaying on their site.

    Thanks

    Andrew

  • Hi, @hampalm1. What you describe makes sense but it sounds like a very specific usage and I would say it is outside the scope of what the default WordPress Importer can do.

I would suggest exploring other export/backup/sync plugins or maybe even an external automation system such as Zapier.

Thanks Alvaro, I am exploring WP AllExport Pro and WP Imp Exp Pro as they appear to be able to provide this however, the more I explore this the more I realise it isn’t straight-forward for a layman like me. I’m making progress though and hoping I will find a solution this way rather than having to pay a developer. Thanks again, Andrew

I am going mark this thread as resolved for now but, assuming this information is listed public on your site, you could also explore some data scraping system to generate the files you need.

    Good luck with that, Andrew!
