Scheduled posts

  • I would like to point out to the developers a somewhat annoying problem when scheduling posts, the scheduled posts completely ignore the option not to show in X or Facebook, always sends them automatically when publishing the post, something that should be respected as the editors sometimes do not want to share certain works in social networks.

    Enable automatic publishing of posts on my Facebook account (NO)

    Enable automatic publication of posts on my Twitter account (NO)

    However, scheduled posts are sent on social networks.

  • I’m also here to report a related user experience issue relating to ‘Scheduled Posts‘.

    Environment:
    WordPress 6.4.3
    Social Media Post Auto Publish 3.3

    Observation / Issue:
    Social Media Auto Publish global settings for ‘Autopublish’ is set to ‘On‘ for my connected platforms.

    I noticed that when writing a post to be ‘Scheduled’ rather than ‘Posted Immediately’…

    The Social Media Auto Publish Meta Boxes on the ‘Add/Edit Post Page’ visually change from their default ‘Auto-publish > On‘ to ‘Auto-publish > off‘

    If @jonas8686 findings prove to be correct relating to my own installation, my scheduled posts will publish anyway (I’ll report my findings after the scheduled publish event takes place in the morning hours (UTC-5).

    Either way, it does appear that between the two of our differing reports – there may be something requiring attention relating to Social Media Auto Publish and ‘Scheduled Posts’.

    Follow up:
    Scheduling posts does visually disable Meta Boxes ‘Auto Publish > On’ within ‘Add/Edit Post Page’.

    Scheduled Posts > do successfully auto publish despite the visual change in backend settings.

    @jonas8686 report remains priority issue relating to Scheduled Posts while the contribution I have reported slots in as a secondary ‘aesthetic / user experience’ related issue.
