Scheduled posts not publishing in 3.3.2

  • Posts I create and “publish immediately” are publishing fine. however – any posts I create and schedule for a future time are not being published. They show up in my posts list as “:scheduled” – then show up as “missed schedule”.
    I’ve read through the forums and done the following:
    *deactived plug-ins in cycles to see if a particular plug-in was causing an issue
    *deactivated ALL plug-ins and tested
    *reset my time zone to include a city name and not just gmt-5

    I read a couple of forum replies about fixing chron jobs and adding some info to the wordpress install directory – but those posts were all more than 11 months to 2 years old.

    Any new information out there on this topic? I’d really like to get the scheduled posts up and running again… since the majority of my posts get published this way.

  • That issue was fixed over a year ago. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I deactivated all the plugins today and tested – still didn’t work.

    I just swapped over to the Twenty Eleven theme – still didn’t work

    Did this: In the table wp_options, under the option_name column (field) find the active_plugins row Change the option_value field to: a:0:{} – still didn’t work

    This next part I’m not quite sure how to do – do you have a link with directions I can follow? This just replaces the wp-admin and wp-includes folders and leaves the rest of the site alone – correct?
    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Yep. No content will be harmed during or after the process. ??

    Download a fresh copy of WordPress to your computer and extract the wordpress folder. Then FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders on your site. Finally upload fresh copies of the wp-admin and wp-includes folders.

    ?? That didn’t work either…..

    I’m still doing all my testing without any plugins and using the twenty eleven theme……

    What can I try now?

    PS> I’m hoping off line to drive home – will be back online in about 45 min.

    If you have access to your server’s error logs, try looking through them for clues.

    UGH… just got off live chat w/ the folks at Bluehost to review error logs…. they seem to be fine and have no errors. The live-chat tech suggested I place a ticket with the database/scripting folks at Bluehost – so i did that. May take them an hour or two before they reply. Anything else you can think of I should try? I’ve still got my site set to Twenty Eleven with all plug-ins deactivated.

    You could try resetting the plugins folder. I’ve known of situations when an inactive plugin was still causing a problem and the only thing that killed it off was a plugin reset via Phpmyadmin.

    Make sure to try the plugin deactivation from PHPMyAdmin.

    And also try running a repair on your tables.

    Also, re-upload all the core WordPress files *except* the wp-content folder.

    See if that helps.
