Scheduled updates overwrite page template

I’ve been scheduling updates to our site today. Everything worked fine on pages using the default template, but on a couple of pages with custom templates, scheduling updates overwrote the template and reverted the pages to default. I had to unschedule the updates to return the pages to their correct templates. Is this a bug?
