• I have been working on my laptop making changes to my theme templates and I am using Cold Blue theme. Then I switched over to another computer, a desktop, to work on the site for a little while. The screen is different on the desktop. The whole page fits snug in the monitor, whereas on my laptop the page sits in the middle and there are blank gaps on each side of the sidebar. Well I made some changes on the desktop, then went back to the laptop to work again, and the whole page is messed up. Now it is all the way to the left of the screen, with no space on the left, and a double wide space on the right. I have no idea how to fix this. I only made very minor changes when I was on the desktop, so I am not sure what is wrong. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? Please help.

  • What do you mean by “The screen is different on the desktop”?
Are you using the same browser to edit your page? For example – internet explorer or safari on both machines?
It sounds like the screen resolution is different on each computer, try changing your screen resolution then viewing the page.
If this is the case, then what you are seeing is due to the size constraints of the browser window, and may require some CSS tweaks to get the site to display how you wish.

I am using the same browser. The resolution is different on each computer but I don’t think that is the main issue. You are right that the size of the browser window is bigger on the laptop, but the problem is that after I made a few changes on the desktop, when I went back to the laptop, the page switched from being centered on the page to being justified to the left. I didn’t change anything major on the desktop…just font family and color.
