• i wanted to merge my databases. i had one at my site.com and one at my blog.site.com. the site.com was the new blog. the blog.site.com was my old blog. 2 different installations but running the same theme.

so here’s what i did. i saved both SQL files and then went into database import and imported the old sql file into the new database. when i did that everytime i tried to log into my admin panel i would get redirected to blog.site.com instead of site.com’s admin panel.

so then i went into the database and deleted the wp-options-values field. now im getting an error saying that i need to install wordpress.

i am so screwed i have no idea what to do. someone tell me how to at least salvage my database for site.com so i can at least continue my blogging.

    thanks.

Probably, that was the mistake. You should have edited/corrected those values to show the new location of the blog (=site.com)

so is there a way to insert the field back? i have a SQL text file. not sure if that’s relevant in my situation. but obviously at this point i’m open for just about anything

Probably, there is – I am just no that good with MySQL queries and coding. Sorry.
Let’s hope some more knowledgeable coder will jump in…
