So I install and start the customization of this almost universally beloved thing, and the very first step is to either click the button to create a custom look or choose from its preferred list of themes — none of which is OceanWP, the theme I used to build a nearly 100-page website.

So I use the search on that page for OceanWP. Not found.

That probably didn’t matter because the result likely would have been the same, since I customized the type sizes and paragraph formatting, and for some reason, this almost universally beloved thing decided to change headline sizes erratically on some pages and remove nearly 100 pages of paragraph indents and change line heights — all of which I had designed and tested and tweaked so that my site, which is very text-heavy (It’s a book) would be much more readable than, for example, Kindle.

I had a beautifully readable site.

And this almost universally beloved thing wrecked all that.

I removed this almost universally beloved thing from my website, but I noticed that it had left a lot of junk behind — orphan pages and all the screwed-up formatting.

I’m hoping it will all restore from my last backup four days ago.

    Woocommerce is not beloved here.

    Hi @insi1000,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I am sorry to hear about the changes that occurred on the site.

We understand how important it is to maintain the integrity of your site’s design. WooCommerce itself doesn’t control theme styles or customizations, so issues with formatting, like changes to headline sizes and paragraph formatting, often arise from incompatibilities with the theme used.

You can skip the step to choose a theme and continue using the theme you want or Install and Activate it from Appearance > Themes. Please ensure the theme supports WooCommerce to avoid any issues.

If you need further assistance or have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!

Either you don’t know what you’re talking about or you’re hiding a serious flaw. The first step in the customization process says to do a design and that it affects the WHOLE WEBSITE. GO LOOK AT IT AND TELL ME IT SAYS SOMETHING DIFFERENT. It gives the alternative of choosing one of the themes below. GO LOOK AT IT. It doesn’t include the theme I have, OceanWP. Also, I have done many customizations changing the stock look of OceanWP.

Installing Woocommerce and clicking on that design choice took away paragraph indentations from nearly a hundred web pages. It changed line heights of all the text. It randomly changed headline sizes, making some of them bigger and leaving others.

When I deinstalled Woocommerce, it left the damage behind. I have spent nearly a year’s time over the past few years designing a superior way to read lengthy text online. It was a beautiful design for long text passages. Now it’s screwed up, and I’m hoping to get it back with a restore.

I can well understand why you would not want people to know about this. I don’t need your help. Woocommerce will never go on any of my websites in the future.

Woocommerce does not do what you are accusing it of doing.

I don’t need your help. Woocommerce will never go on any of my websites in the future.

Great! Then this conversation is over as you are not seeking support and just providing feedback. On that note, I’ll close this review to new comments.

You left feedback, it was pointed out that Woocommerce doesn’t touch those things, you disagreed. The End.

I am closing this to new replies. If you do suddenly realize you need support then you or anyone else who has this problem can raise a support topic.
