Script on thank you page

  • Hello, we have a problem: On thank you page is showing script from Funnelkit plugin: https://prnt.sc/T5BRIN3KMJEy

    Support from Funnelkit plugin says

    “When a user denies permission, this plugin renders some custom HTML, as seen here: https://imgur.com/Bn6CcFz.

    This custom HTML breaks the script and removes the script tags and this is not correct to remove script tag.

    It seems that the plugin attempts to block the Google script after permission is denied, but it doesn’t fully remove the script ( here is the full script: https://imgur.com/41pcWvK and after denied, it’s shown like this in the footer: https://imgur.com/Foyigbw)

    Additionally, this plugin changes the script’s position from the header to the footer.

    We print the Google script in the header, but when permission is denied, the script moves to the footer.

    This is the reason why the script is showing on the thank you page.”

    thanks a lot for the hint and your patience. And it might be that the blocking feature of this plugin sometimes interferes with other plugins or scripts. Let us figure this out and fix it. Unfortunately I do not fully understand your request.

    I have the following questions:

    1. What do you mean by “script from funnelkit”.
    2. What is the exact problem? The script is not loaded anymore? Only on thank you page or everywhere? If only on thank you: how can I test and reproduce this issue?
    3. Can you please send me the URL of this script? Or are there multiple scripts?
    4. What does the “funnel kit script” do exactly? It injects a google script?

    This is the small “manage cookie settings” icon you have. For me it is hard to imagine that his will break any script. The cause must be somewhere else. More like here:

    thanks for the answer.

    My answers are:

    What do you mean by “script from funnelkit”: funnelkit plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/funnel-builder/

    The problem we are experiencing is that the Funnelkit script breaks on the thank you page and becomes visible to the user. This issue occurs when cookies are denied during the checkout process. Specifically, the cookie banner is preventing me from completing the order (i.e., clicking the “Place Order” button) in Chrome.

    Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce this issue on our staging site, so it’s not relevant for debugging, and I won’t be able to provide access to the live page. However, this is not a critical issue for us because we will be switching to a new site soon.

    From a user experience perspective, I’m wondering why the cookie banner needs to be present on the checkout and cart pages. If a user denies cookies, wouldn’t it be better to hide the banner and interpret it as a denial, rather than forcing the user to interact with it?

    I recommend testing your plugin with Funnelkit in Chrome to ensure compatibility.

    Hi,

    thanks a lot for the Feedback. In general for Banner 1 you have a block list where you can add pages you want to exclude. You find them under Cookie Banner Settings > Compliance & Baviour > Block List (scoll down)

    But if you use the script blocking feature or the google consent mode feature you want in general parts of the Banner code executed at those pages, because otherwise you would get into trouble with legal or your tracking won’t work correctly on those pages.

    And the code you shared is about this logic, so it needs to be there. So I would really like to get to the bottom of this.

    Can you maybe sent me an copy of the full html code of the page? So I get a better Idea whats going on.
