• Hi,

I noticed the issue on mobile Safari for iOs. Scroll position is losing when you go back. For example when you scroll through product catalog, view the product page and go back with browser button you get to the top of product catalog instead of scroll position. It’s a tangible issue if you have many products.

I did a small research. On mobile Chrome for Android and Desktop scroll position preserves correctly. So I observe this issue only on Safari for iOs.

I also have another website on Twenty Twenty theme. It works fine too. So I supposed the issue probably Storefront related.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @handmadehome,

I was able to reproduce this with your site on IOS 16.3, but on my test site it’s working fine, I get back where I left from.

I noticed your shop catalogue page is not showing products, can you please tell me more about your site’s setup?

Could you also share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi @babylon1999

I noticed your shop catalogue page is not showing products,

Did you mean product category page? If so, this is one: https://www.shop.handmadehome.me/product-category/sculptures/

I’m also working on custom category page: https://www.shop.handmadehome.me/merch/

That’s very unusual, I checked your site again and some pages work fine even on IOS. At this point, I think the best option is to move your site to a staging environment, disable all plugins and test if you still have this behaviour.

If not, you can enable each plugin one by one to see which one was the culprit.

If your hosting provider doesn’t offer a staging solution, you can use this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/

Let us know how it goes!

    Thanks, I’ll try it.

But can you tell me please, which pages work fine on iOS from your end? I just can’t see any.

Ok, I deactivated all plugins but Woocommerce, deleted all custom css.

Cleared cache on Safari iOS browser and did a test. The issue is still here. ??

UPD. I went ahead and in addition to actions above I installed Twenty Twenty theme and completely deleted Storefront. And voila! The issue has disappeared.

Then I installed and activated Storefront. The issue is back.

Please double check it. Looks like this is not my website but Storefront by itself. (the issue persists on Safari, iOS version 16.3.1 )

If you wish I can email login link to my staging website.

    Hi @handmadehome

I understand that the issue persists when using the default Storefront theme, correct?

To better picture what you are referring to here, can you please share with us a clear screenshot of what you see on your end so that we could address you more effectively?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, you can try https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

In addition, if you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Thanks!

    Yes! That’s right.

First I wanted to simulate this issue using iOS environment on desktop to send you screenshots. But environments I was able to find do not replicate it. So, here is the screen recording of my smartphone (Safari, iOS 16.3.1):

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mj40l8jtmei0k8p/Video%2028.02.2023%2C%2009%2052%2025.mov?dl=0

As you can see you always back to the top of page instead of scroll position. (I did a test on three different iPhone models. The issue persists on all of them)

This is the screen recording from my production website. But as I already wrote, I can observe the same issue on my staging website with default Storefront theme and only Woocommerce plugin active. This issue disappears if I replace Storefront with Twenty Twenty theme. So, I suppose the problem is in Storefront on Safari, iOS. (Desktop and Android work fine)
