Since the latest update, I’m having issues with the backend of WordPress within my posts and CPTs set up through a directory plugin. The things that move when I scroll are the side menu and the headers outside the box that contains the list of posts (Bulk Actions, All Dates, All Categories, search bar, etc.). However the box with the list of posts remains stagnant so I cannot get to the bottom of it. Help!

Just inspected and it looks like it’s this element: wp-list-table widefat fixed striped table-view-list posts

    What is the directory plugin?

GeoDirectory. But it’s happening with any of those tables (posts, GeoDirectory CPTs, Pods CPTs, Pages) on the admin side except for the plugins table.

Would you please provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

Sure! Here is a link to the image: https://imgur.com/a/2lcR4ur

One is pre-scrolling. The other is trying to scroll to the bottom of posts.

    Wow, that is weird!

This problem may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme. If the problem goes away, re-activate them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install?Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.

I am experiencing the same issue. I think the problem is with the browser. Are you using Google Chrome? I had to switch to Mozilla Firefox, and it’s scrolling well there.

I deactivated all plugins on my staging site (same issue is happening there) and I changed themes. The issue is still there. Oddly, when I opened WordPress on my PC vs my Mac (which is my main computer), it’s fine. Both are in Chrome.

@ultigraph Not that I want you to have the issue too, but at least it sounds like I’m not causing it! ??

Hm, I wonder if there’s an issue in Chrome for Mac, wouldn’t be the first time, it’s under-tested at Google.

Do you have the same issue in Safari or Firefox on your Mac?

    Thread Starter Tanja

    (@tanjasue)

Yep. It’s definitely Chrome. Works fine in Safari and Firefox. And Chrome on PC but not Mac.

So what’s the solution other than switching browsers? Wait it out?

I recommend contacting Chrome’s support about this, or filing a bug report with them.

If it works fine in other browsers, and especially if it works fine with Windows Chrome, there’s nothing that WordPress can fix here.

It looks like the problem could be “an extension called: ′Record, Transcribe & ChatGPT for Google Meet′” per https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/scroll-problems-in-wordpress/#post-17937964

I’m having the same issue with Chrome on Mac, I don’t have the Chat GPT extension mentioned above. Guess I’ll have to switch to firefox in the meantime it gets fixed

@yoorchcr it’s not a Chat GPT extension. Just an FYI, I use Elementor Pro and couldn’t edit without it going into Safe Mode, and discovered this was a Chrome conflict as well. There is def something up with the latest Chrome update and WordPress/Mac.

@tanjasue it’s now working fine on my end! tested on several WordPress installs!
