• Hello,

I am trying to create a testimonial page and was wondering if Relevanssi could search the testimonial page only. I don’t want for the search field on this testimonial page to search the blog side of the website or any other page. Is that possible? Could I also use Relevanssi to search the rest of the website, including the blog side?

    Thank you for your time,

    Omel

Isn’t browser on-page search for that? Relevanssi search on a single page is near useless, as it won’t take you to the results, it’ll just link you to the page. If the results always include exactly one page, which is the same page you came from, that’s sounds like it’s more frustrating than useful.

But yes, I suppose if you really want to do this, you can do it with relevanssi_hits_filter filter hook – add an extra parameter to the search so you can check if you’re on the testimonies page, and if you are, then remove everything but the testimonial page from the results.

Well, when you have many testimonials to look through it is nice to be able to find specific ones relating a specific category. So rather than frustrating, it is convenient. Thanks for your help.

Relevanssi won’t help you in on-page search, using browser on-page search is much, much better, as it’ll take you to the right place on page immediately. Relevanssi will only take you to the top of the page.

I’m not familiar with browser on-page search. Do you mean for me to use a search engine such as google to search my page or is it a plugin?

    Thank you for you help.

That’s a feature in your browser, not a website or a plugin. Try hitting Ctrl-F (or Cmd-F on OS X). It’ll let you search for text on the page. It’s very useful in many cases.
