Search Amazon Unit

  • Hello

    I just installed your plugin and need some help. I am hoping to install a “search” box onto a page so users can simply search for whatever product they want. I dont know what UNIT to create or if this is even possible with your units. Can you give me some basic guidance as how to get that started, if possible? I already have amazon secret key and auth codes

    Hi,

    Basically, this plugin is not built for such a purpose. Sorry.

    However, you can create a contextual unit and add a search input field with the s name attribute or the WordPress built-in search widget. If you use the built-in search widget, the normal posts will be listed so you would need to customize your theme.

    Another workaround would be to create actual posts from unit results; each created post would have the product details as its post content so the normal site search would find and display those posts of Amazon products as the search result. This requires additional coding, however. If you desperately need this functionality, shoot me an email via the contact form.

    Thank you for your reply. It appears that your plugin will not be able to do what I need so I am removing it. I’m sure your plugin is very useful but it is not for my purposes. Be well.
