    Good morning,

Do you know if there is a way to search and replace in bulk a text that is repeated in all the tables?

For the HTML I use the “Better Search and Replace” plugin, but I don’t know how to do it for the tables.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m now aware of a direct way that is specific to TablePress tables (I do have this on my list as a feature in a future version though), sorry.

However, using such a plugin or a direct SQL query should work fine. Just be very careful if the content that you are search/replacing contains quotation marks ". Those are special in TablePress’ internal data format an always need to be written in escaped form with an extra backslash in front, i.e. \".

Also, before performing such potentially dangerous operations, I highly recommend to export all your tables to the CSV and JSON format on the “Export” screen of TablePress (you’ll get a ZIP file for each, so it should not be too much work).

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks Tobias, you have given me the hint to find the solution.

I have used the “Better Search Replace” plugin by looking in the “*****_posts” table and being very careful to put \" instead of " so as not to break the JSON format.

So I have been able to make changes to many tables in bulk mode.

    Thanks again !

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
