Search and Replace -Description doing nothing

Hello,

I’m trying to do a bulk search and delete and I’ve been testing with just one product at a time till I can get it figured out, but when I do the following, literally nothing happens:

I check the box for the description, enter the text, select variable, select replace, then in the next row, I select same, enter a space in the next field to delete the selected text.

I then select the product to preform the edit to and then select bulk edit now.

I then check the product to see if it was edited and nothing has happened.

Any help would be much appreciated.
