I need to replace a bunch of left and right single and double quotes, em dashes, etc with the corresponding html.

I tried copying and pasting the characters from phpMyAdmin (and from a word doc) to the Search field but the plugin only found them in the wp-options field:

    ——————————
    Looking @ all …
    Collapse All Expand All
    Results for: “
    Table: wp_options … Total Results for ““”: 5
    SQL
    Result
    ——————————

If I browse the actual database I can see the characters. Is there a way to make this work ?

I think you have not set the checkbox for replace it; on the first section to search replace, change the checkbot to the second input field and add values for search and replace.

    Thanks Frank
I thought I would be able to just search for the characters before doing a search and replace.

    However your method worked perfectly.
