Search Bar customisation

I am currently using Local WordPress and the kadence theme I am trying to customise the built in search bar and I am using WP code snippets to customise the search bar. I managed to customise it so when a user clicks on the search icon in the header the search bar appears underneath the header however I am having difficulty coding it so when a user begins to type in the search field the search suggestions containers appear underneath the search field, instead what is happening is that the search containers are appearing inside the search field and what I wanted was the search modal to expand when the user begins to type in the search field below to show all search suggestions like the examples I attached. If you can help id be happy to share the current CSS,PHP, Javascript code I have.

the example I am trying to achieve without the categories would be the search bar by I have already managed to code it to display underneath the header but its the search suggestions that are not expanding the modal underneath with the search suggestions containers
