    Hi,

Just want to say WOW, this plugin is amazing, real straight forward and easy to use unlike so many I have used in the past, Tobias is the man!

I was wondering how it would be possible to have the search functionality without displaying any table contents initially so all you get is a search box where items are returned only when searched?

Also is it possible to make the search function more complex by having multiple options to search on? e.g location, price range etc etc all in one search? say for example you had property listings that you wanted to be searchable by there location and price range and other similar criteria.

    Thanks again,

    Ceri.

    Hi Ceri,

    thanks for your post.

It is nice to hear that you like the plugin so much!

Unfortunately, what you would like to have is not possible with the plugin, at least without custom programming.
This would require changing/extending the DataTables JavaScript library, which does the actual search within the table.
Unfortunately, I don’t know that library well enough, so I can’t help with that ??
For the second idea of multiple filter options, the same holds, as I see it. You will need custom JavaScript code to do this.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Damn that was fast response! O.K as I thought, had read through allot of the documentation and forum posts prior to asking, either the functionality is exactly what I’m looking for at the moment and purely wondering for future reference!

Thanks again for your help and keep up the great work, it’s people like you that make WordPress such a great CMS!

    Ceri.
