Search Console: Image size smaller than recommended size

  • I use Yoast SEO plugin along with AMP for WP on my blog. Images on my blog are not wider than 720 pixels.

    I enabled Yoast meta tags under SEO tab of AMP for WP plugin. I also followed this article but still get the following error.

    “Image size smaller than recommended size” on Google Search Console. I thought it was fixed in v0.9.97.27.

    By going through some forum threads and further research, I came across this github commit. Is there an option to enable this filter or is it enabled by default? Am I missing something? I disabled featured image on single post design. I use swift theme.
