I have events showing on the home page of my site. I’m getting a Missing field “location” in google search console and, from the looks of it, the issue is coming from the Event Calendar module rather than a particular event.

I can answer any other clarifying questions that might help resolve this.

    Thank you!

    Hi there!

Thanks for writing in with your question – I checked out what you’re describing by running URLs through?Google’s Rich Test results?that checks for structured data compliance, and I can see that Google is giving a warning for “Missing Field: Location” on your home page.

I would recommend modifying this snippet that we shared in a previous release for a similar issue that users were experiencing: https://gist.github.com/jesseeproductions/c382a05bf3d573fa919429cab01a8859

Please give that a try and let me know how it goes!

    Hi!

Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I need to modify the snippet to function how I need it.

Could you upload a snippet with the modifications applied?

    Thanks!

    Hi @laf0

    Thanks for your message,

Upon checking on this again, it seems the JSON-LD that has the missing “location” is not coming from our plugins.

    See- https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8uG8qzG

May I ask what Elementor widget you’re using for your calendar on your homepage?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @d0153

    Thanks for the reply.

I’m using this plugin to display the calendar.

I reached out to their support and this was their response:
“Our plugin is used to show events in different layouts and using elementor widget. But all the data of events are coming from The Event Calendar plugin”

    looking forward to your reply!

    Hi @laf0

    Thanks for your message.

Would you try showing them the screenshot that I sent? Maybe they could check their template and see if the JSON-LD is coming from their plugin.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @d0153

This is what they responded with:

This data is also coming from The Event Calendar plugin only.
We have used their function (Tribe__Events__JSON_LD__Event::instance()->get_data( $post );).

    Please let me know!

    Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @laf0, that’s the correct function. I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins and Events Widget for Elementor.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything.?
To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Hi @laf0

We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
