• Hey there

I’ve been using the plugin successfully up until the last few months on the site I manage https://www.puff.kiwi.nz/. It has stopped letting me search for custom messages however as of late. Typing in a string doesn’t show any custom emails, even though there are many in the backend. I’ve tried disabling plugins in case of conflict but haven’t found anything to work.

Could I please get some help, I can send over an admin password if need be.

    Thanks a lot
    Tim

  • Hi, It has some sort of bug however if you know little about HTML/CSS you can do a trick to search and choose the email.

When you’re trying to choose an email from list and it doesn’t show up, follow the instructions and it should temporarily work for you.

    1. Click on any field i.e Completed/Processing/On Hold
    2. Type any letter and wait for 5 seconds
    3. Right click on any field mentioned above and click inspect elements
    4. Delete the class “hidden” and hit enter. Screenshot attached (shorturl.at/vHM47)

You should now see a list of all emails.

This method worked for me. It’s not a permanent solution however, this trick might get you going.
    Thank You

    This works – thanks @farmanorakzai !

Well done working that out ??

Thank you all for your feedback, this will help me update the plugin and fix this issue.

With the COVID-19 quarantine in place, my regular workload has drastically increased, leaving me little time to work on this project. But I am still monitoring all comments and will update the plugin as soon as I can.

Thank you all for using my plugin!

    Hello all,

I am checking in with an update — I am still unable to reproduce this issue locally.

I created a fresh local development install with the following:
    – WordPress version 5.4
    – WooCommerce version 4.0.1
    – Woo Custom Emails Per Product version 2.2.4

    I published several WCE Messages:

When I go to edit a product in WooCommerce, I am able to search for and assign WCE Messages in the WooCommerce Product Data tab without any issues — see screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/4td83Tn.png

When I complete my test purchase of this product, I do see the WCE Message content being inserted into the email:

I have confirmed I am able to use the plugin as intended with the default install of WordPress, WooCommerce, and my plugin.

If you are experiencing issues with the WCE Message search list not appearing, there must be a conflict of the JavaScript in your theme or plugin files. If you do see this happening, can you look at your browser Console and see if it is reporting any errors/issues?

    Hello guys, Hello Alex @alexmustin

I’m back with great news after having the same problem (custom email not appearing in search results). I tried in incognito window and it work. Then i deactivate every chrome extension 1 by one and find that our bug come from :

    Loom for Chrome

So it looks it’s not a plugin compatibility issue, but a Loom chrome extension thing, if it can help for plugin update of this wonderful tool ??

Test on a Website with Astra / Woo / Catflows .. and many more woo plugins

    Cheers ??

    Thanks @geraldino

Uninstalling the Loom extension fixed this for me. Appreciate your following-up here.

Hey I just wanted to say that I came here to report the same issue, but it was Loom! I deactivated the Loom extension and it works!

I am having the same search issue. I type in the to search for my email and nothing pulls up. I do not have Loom installed, and I have tried all other suggestions. Any other help you can lend to make the plugin work properly so I can search and select the custom email I created? I have tried it in Chrome and Firefox, but it is not working in any browser.

    Hi @trishahanke,

I’d love to help, but I need more information.

Are there any console errors that appear in the browser when you search for Custom Email Messages? If so, can you please copy/paste the error(s) here?

    Thanks!
