When I search for my site by name, the search engines have this to say:

    Bing:
We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.

    Google:
A description for this result is not available because of this site’s robots.txt – learn more.

    Yahoo:
We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.

The robots.txt file (which can’t be found in the directory), pops up virtually and says I’m only disallowing my wp-admin, so it seems like robots.txt isn’t the actual problem. I have unchecked the “Discourage Search Engines From Indexing This Site” box. What else could be causing this?

This question has been asked on multiple other threads before, but those have closed with no one ever (that I have found) resolving the issue.

How long ago did you uncheck the box? It can take several weeks for most search engines to re-index your description once you allow them to.

I unchecked it about an hour before I made the first post on this thread. If it doesn’t straighten out I’ll update again.

Yep, give it a few weeks, Google should straighten it out by then. ??
