search everything puzzle

    have installed Dan Cameron’s plugin Search Everything, and followed his simple instructions fully and correctly I believe, yet have no luck in searching for text within any page (simply posts are returned).
    Tinkering with searchform.php has shed no light (I am not a programmer, so resourcefulness limited here).
    Most threads on this topic appear closed (and old)…
    Am baffled!
    Or stupid…
    Any pointers much appreciated!

    PS: John Godley’s ‘search unleashed’ plug-in DOES work (and search pages)…

    this added in case of any help to others with same problem as above
