• So the search feature doesn’t seem to be working, I type in a query which exists in posts but the predictive text feature doesn’t work, it simply says “sorry, no posts were found”.

Are there posts matching the query?

Could you send the URL so I can test for myself?

    Thanks

Yes there are and the site is https://wiki.pushenergy.co.uk/

    Reset your permalinks.

I had the same issue when I first started. I just reset them, and it fixed it.

Setting > Permalinks > Just click save (you don’t have to adjust anything)

The articles should be found now.

I have done as you suggested Blake and still am having the same problem.

Strange. I just went to your site and searched for “password” and came up with two articles.

I searched for ‘password’ because it was mentioned in two articles I saw, so I knew it would deliver results.

    And it did.

I also searched for ‘unicorns’ and I received a results page with no results.

    I wish I could help more…

On a side note, how did you get your searchbar to be centered in the header? I have it set to auto with margins on my site, but it’s NOT QUITE center… it’s it’s driving me crazy.

Yeah so essentially when installing this theme, it seemed to add lots of pages and content. It seems that when you begin searching it searches only the content that it created and not my knowledge base.

Again in response to the centre, are you referring to the top search bar or one below? The top one is controlled through my theme (Flatbase).

    (@alexanderblake)

AH. I see. That makes more sense now.

The top one is beautiful. That’s your theme.

The second one if the KB, and when I searched it, I saw what you were talking about. (no articles found) appears in the drop-down when I search for ‘unicorns’ now. I still get results when I search for ‘password’ though.

Man, I have no idea now.

I agree the top one is great but neither function lol. I’m debating whether to fresh install and import my content although it’s lots of hassle I really don’t need now. I’d like to get it fixed if possible.

    (@alexanderblake)

Well it IS working for me. I can’t completely reproduce what you see.

Maybe it’s an issue with your browser… which, I know sounds like such a “tech support” answer. I’m running out of ideas though.

It may say “no search results found” but if you hit enter, your page still reloads with suggestions of articles that might help.

MAYBE the “no results” page template can be modified to showcase a few of your most popular articles, so no matter what results “don’t appear” the user still gets some usable result.

I am having the same results as OP on my site aowanders.com. I have looked at all replies and nothing seems to work to fix this. What else should I look at or try?

    Thanks,

    Adam
