    Hi,

When I click in the search field it highlights the text that’s there instead of clearing it for the user to enter their search query. I’ve managed to narrow down what’s causing it and seems to be W3 Total Cache. Disabled each plugin until search field worked when W3 was disabled.

Tried it in various browsers, cleared caches and went through W3’s options and disabled, modified as much as I could to see if it was one particular setting, but still the same problem.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

  • Hi Jaiqua,

You will need to ask plugin developer whether there’s an specific setting preventing search field text to go. Otherwise, you can also try other caching plugins like wp rocket or total cache.

    Cheers emranemranx!

Thank you and will do. And thank you for the other suggestions too. Will take a look and also at the other cache plugins.

    Enjoy the week ahead!

Edit: Disabling HTML minify solved the problem. I read that the dev is prepping an update for another search issue, but not the same I had.
