search filter not working in woocommerce backend

The search filter functionality on the product page in the admin panel is no longer working. No matter what I search for, no results come up. I have found a previous thread about the same topic https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/woocommerce-product-search-not-showing-results-in-admin/ and followed the suggestions but it is still no working. Any ideas as to what may be going on? thank you
