    Hello,

    I am setting up a website on a local WordPress 3.8.1 installation.

    The Events Manager plugin version is 5.5.2, although I have also tried using the development version with no success.

    Right now, whenever I go to the events page, instead of the search form above the calendar, I have an empty whiteish rectangle. This rectangle is replicated if I write [event_search_form] after (or before) the word CONTENTS.

    It is not possible to write inside this rectangle or do anything useful with it.

    I have made sure that the following options are enabled:

    • Events->Settings->Pages->Show events search
    • Events->Settings->Pages->Enable Archives
    • Events->Settings->Pages->Include in WordPress Searches?

    Just for the record, these are the plugins currently active:

    • Breadcrumb NavXT
    • Disable Comments
    • Duplicate Post
    • Events Manager (of course!) ??
    • Shortcode Widget
    • Simple Page Ordering
    • SoundCloud Shortcode

    Finally, I am using Yootheme’s Capture theme 1.0.4 (Warp Framework 7.2.1).

    Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I was very pleased with the plugin and seriously considering paying for the premium version. However, the search form is a major feature which I cannot go without, therefore I have to see whether I can solve this before buying something I will not use.

    Thanks a lot in advance for your prompt reply.

    did you correctly assigned events page at Events > Settings > Pages > Event List/Archives > Events page and/or try to

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

    Hi angelo_nwl,

    Thanks a lot for your reply.

    I indeed tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default theme (“twentyfourteen” and then “twentythirteen”).

    Unfortunately, even in these conditions, the problem I described persists.

    Are there any peculiar server-side requirements for this search form to be displayed (and work)?

    Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Regarding the events page at
    Events->Settings->Pages->Event List/Archives->Events
    it is correctly assigned. Moreover, as I said before, the calendar shows up in that page and a white empty rectangle is displayed for each [event_search_form] after (or before) the word CONTENTS.

    Hiya,

    Can you provide some screenshots showing this in the default theme, with no other plugins active please?

    It’s hard to know what to look for without seeing what’s happening.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    I managed to fix it.

    I had to 1) deactivate the plugin, 2) delete the files from the server, and 3) delete all references to Events Manager in the table wp_options of the database.

    After this, I reinstalled the plugin and everything worked out of the box.

    From this experience, I believe it would be a good idea to make it easier to fully remove the plugin (mysql entries included).

    I will mark this as solved, although the problem was neither identified nor satisfactorily solved.

    Thanks for those who helped!
