Search function in header

  • I would like to see a search icon added to the header menu. I don’t understand why this isn’t a standard feature in WordPress themes, since having to add search in a sidebar widget is a waste of valuable screen space.

  • Hi @nrepair, this is something you can do using a child theme yourself. It wouldn’t be something to add to the core theme as it’s a user specific feature. Not every theme should do everything and that’s the line that a default theme treads.
