Search icon inside of search field?

    I’m trying to get an icon such as the magnifying glass from Font Awesome.
    <i class="fa fa-search searchIcon"></i>
    I put this code in the place holder settings and it spits out the code instead of the icon.

    Any way to add icons to the search field?
