Search in album (through multiple galleries)

We want to make a central place where all the pictures from different departments are being gathered (e.g. ‘buildings’, ‘events’,…).
The problem is that when you make galleries from ‘buildings’ and ‘events’, that you can’t search through them both simultaniously.
You would be able to do that if there was a search function on the album level.
This could be handy for example when you want to search for pictures that were taken in the rain: there could be a picture of a building in the rain, but also a picture of people running in the rain in one of the event galleries.

Is it possible to make a searchbox on the album level, and if yes: how?
