• Hi. When I do some search like Puerto Rico in the location search, no events are found. But there is at least one event attributed to Puerto Rico. SO I am confused why it is not coming up with the event. It does not work for other searches as well.

Also, would it be possible to remove all other events that come up during the search? For example, if a search is not found, a list of events still shows up. I want to be able to remove those events from the search list, because it is kind of confusing to users. Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • not part of support.. just some dude..

If I click the advanced button and set the date to early April.. and then sometime next week

I search “puerto rico” and it comes up.
and then “world peace” same thing.

puerto rico was a past event.
world peace has future events.. so actually a date wasn’t required for that… but did it anyway.

    Try.. admin Settings -> Events
    click the tab Pages
    Event List/Achives (it will expand)
    scroll down to
    WordPress Event Archives

    Enable Archives “Yes”
    Event archives scope “All Events”

    see if those suggestions help..

For the list of events that are showing up.. after your search.. that you don’t want to see (that don’t pertain to the search)..

Actually the page you have as your link you posted above..
Is your Events list page.. ie your Events (future).
So those events are just going to show up…

On the same settings we worked on above..
There is an option to remove the search form from your events page.
    Show events search? Yes/No

Then… what you could do.. is make a separate “Search Page”
    and use this shortcode
    [event_search_form]
And on your Events page… make a link, Search Events, point to that page

    I have a separate Search Page…
I haven’t explored what you exactly want.. maybe there is an easy way, although maybe it would require some custom coding.

Hi. Thank you for the suggestions, which I did implement.

However, when I searched location or even just search, some searches are not coming up.

    for example
I searched for Hamilton, Ontario and nothing came up. There is one or more events under Hamilton, ON. So I am not sure what is happening here. Another example is the event World Peace Diet, where is find the events after I search. Could it be that I put in Hamilton, ON and not Hamliton ON? If so how do I make it so it search any of the words a user types in?

    VeggieFest Hamilton
    Ancaster Fairgrounds, Hamilton Ontario
