Search not working when clicked on

  • Hi folks.

    I am using Twenty Fourteen, and my site is here.

    The Search function doesn’t respond when clicked, but does work well when you hit ‘Enter’ on the keyboard! Would be most appreciative if anyone can figure out what is going on here, and how to fix it.

  • As it currently stands, the js in place is set to click the search open and closed. You could probably add some custom jQuery to adjust that search box so when it’s opened and text is entered that on the first click of the search icon will do search and then on the second click toggle the search box closed(much like it currently works). I think if you do a search for similar functionality you’ll find some decent solutions on stackoverflow to accomplish this. Hope that helps.

    Hi Will and thanks for your response. It certainly does help, because I now understand that the Search function is operating as intended in Twenty Fourteen. I assumed it was malfunctioning.

    I’ll follow up your suggestion re stackoverflow.
