• Just wondering if any of you guys encountered the same issue where the search function for PAGES under ‘Appearance->Menus’ section of wordpress admin doesn’t work. For example i’ll search ‘About Us’ page and it will return random pages. The search on the posts section seem to work properly though.

  • I don’t ever remember using search from the pages selector for menus.

Most of the sites I’ve worked on only have a handful of actual pages and then the taxonomy ‘pages’ for categories, etc.

I’ll agree with you though on…

The search on the posts section seem to work properly though.

    and I’m glad it does.

That said, are you seeing this problem with the new Block editor or the Classic Editor?

@jnashhawkins we actually have around 400 pages now thus we need the search functionality.

on both actually, encountered this issue before and after update to 5.0.3

I could imagine you would need that search function with 400 pages.

Have you done anything like an optimize on your database? Or maybe a ‘check’ on the tables from PHPMyAdmin?

I’m wondering if maybe the number of pages just totally overwhelms that search’s capabilities.

I did just do a post search from the menu editor on a site with 15K posts and it took a good while before it returned anything after the first three posts but I sort of expected that with that site as it is pretty slow anyway.

A page search there was pretty fast though… but it only had two pages anyway.
