Search page is missing and ?

Recently I had to do some serious patching back together of a client’s wordpress install and seem to have gotten everything back up and running except for the search page. For some reason it’s missing the header include –

https://www.seattledirectcounseling.com/?s=test+search

When I switch out this template (which was built on the old twentyten theme) to twentyeleven, everything works. However if I paste the contents of twentyeleven’s search.php template into the current search.php template I get the same problem, along with a few others.

I suspect the issue has something to do with the fact that I had to copy the current template into a fresh install of WP, and maybe it needs to get upgraded to the newest version or something?
