Search page redirected to Cobalten.com

  • Hello, i made a website a few months ago and last week the site was hacked, i had some backups so i was able to restore the website but now sometimes when i use the search bar on revslider the results page gets redirected to Cobalten.com.

    Is this some sort of malware on the wordpress site or malware on my local machine (MAC)?
    This seams to be happening only on chrome safari and opera on firefox everything seams fine…

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

    Sounds like you either have a caching issue from while the site was hacked or did not complete the recovery correctly. It is also possible that you may have recovered to a version that was also hacked and you had not noticed the hack yet.

    i think i’m going to try and reverse to an older backup, and if this doesn’t work.. then i’ll have to try the fresh cup of coffee ??

    Last time someone posted about this I looked it up and it appeared to be malware/adware on the user’s computer, not the actual website.

    Nope. When I try https://genomed.pt/?s=test on an incongito browser on my machine, I get redirected to a phishing/malware site. The website is hacked.

    Not cobalten.com though, which is the one that’s apparently caused by adware. So there’s possibly multiple issues here.
