    Hi!
I’m having a blog installed and running at a subdomain like https://blog.example.com and everything is fine. Today I found out that the search is not working as expected.

Using the search form directly on the site by entering the query string and submitting it – everything is fine. It goes to https://blog.example.com/?s=querystring and displays the results.

But: when I go to the address bar and hit enter on the same URL above it redirect with a 301 to the frontpage (query removed). Same thing when I click a search query url from the outside.

It gets redirected with a 301 to the frontpage.

I’m having the same on another blog of mine. A third one is fine and has no problems.

I tried different browsers, cleared the cache, disabled plugins, checked the htaccess, looked for extra functions that might have something to do with it… nothing.

Any hints for me where to continue my search?

  • Have you tried switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Yup, tried it already (but forgot to mention it ?? )

    I’ve found the error!
Somehow I had to delete the robots-meta plugin to get rid of the error. There seems to be an error with the plugin – wp-debug says:

Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_REFERER in /var/www/htdocs/eveosblog/wp-content/plugins/robots-meta/robots-meta.php on line 422

So disabling and deleting robots-meta solved it!
